Have a fantastic experience of paper marbling in this 2 hour workshop. This workshop includes a introduction to the history and the many techniques of marbling and the materials. You will get the opportunity to use two to three different colour combinations to make 6 - 10 A3 size unique sheets.

All materials are provided.

This workshop is for Ebru marbling. The water for the workshop is prepared 2-3 days in advance. Nataliia uses natural dyes, horse hair brushes and special combs to make designs. None of these materials are available for sale in Ireland. It's therefore very difficult to replicate this technique at home after. But at the same time this is our most popular workshop. The experience is almost magical, the paper you make will amaze you.

We do supply Suminagashi Inks for marbling in the shop. This is for a different type of marbling that can be done using unprepared water at home.

Nataliia Dragunova, is a qualified architect and interior designer from Kyiv, Ukraine.
She was introduced to marbling in 2011 when she saw the works of Turkish Ebru master Fatih Yesil, who later become her teacher.
Up to Feb 2022 she lead regular master classes in Kyiv for Marbling as Art and produced marbled papers for old book restoration.
She also started to use marbled patterns in interiors by transferring them on gyps, wood and fabric.
" I believe, this unique old technique can magically inspire and influence people the same way as it changed and embellished my life."

The workshop takes place in the studio over our shop in Terenure in Dublin D6WXN23.

Great marbling class

Very well run class, only six of us in it so we had plenty of time to ask questions and for Nataliia to demonstrate new techniques or let us experiment on our own. We each made 8 large sheets of marbled paper in different colour palates and patterns and I was delighted with the results

Introduction to Paper Marbling with Nataliia Dragunova

This was my second workshop with Nataliia. She's an excellent teacher, a very welcoming and fun person, energetic and passionate about her craft, and she shows an active interest in her students getting the most out of the experience. I recommend her workshops highly to anyone with an interest in any kind of graphic art, at any level. Ebru/Marbelling is a medium that offers surprising results even to a complete novice. The barrier to entry is knowing where to find and how to prepare the materials, something not covered in this introductory workshop, and which I'd like to see offered in a higher level course in the future.
