Modular Paper Jewellery with Genevieve Howard

Discover the creative possibilities of paper by designing and making your own contemporary pair of earrings or pendant.

The morning workshop will be for earrings the afternoon workshop for pendants.

In a two-hour workshop, participants will explore a modular jewellery-making technique using layered, lacquered paper. Through cutting, layering and linking individual paper elements, you'll create a unique pair of lightweight earrings while experimenting with shape, colour and composition.

Along the way, you'll learn how simple repeated forms can be combined to create bold, sculptural jewellery inspired by pattern, movement and play. No previous jewellery-making experience is required, and all materials are provided.

Leave with a beautifully handcrafted pendant or a finished pair of handcrafted earrings and the skills to continue exploring this versatile technique at home. If you decide to do both workshops the second workshop will allow more creative exploration and experimentation.

All materials provided. The workshop takes place in the studio over our shop in Terenure.

Genevieve Howard is an interdisciplinary artist, jewellery designer, musician and educator working across jewellery, sound, sculpture and material experimentation. She is an Assistant Lecturer at the National College of Art and Design and has years of experience developing and delivering creative workshops. Working across traditional and contemporary making processes, Genevieve uses materials such as paper, metal, digital fabrication and found elements to create sculptural and wearable forms. Her workshops encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration of materials through hands-on experimentation.
