Our large sheets of Katazome shi papers have four deckle, or rough, edges. this is the signature of a hand made paper and makes them particularly attractive for wall hanging and framing.
Katazome means stencil dyed and shi means paper. Like the Chiyogami these are printed one colour using persimmon-dyed kozo as the stencils, and aided by paste and "Kojiro" (soy bean juice), the pigments absorb deeply into the paper to produce long-lasting vibrant colours.
