Tama Ivory

This kozo-based paper has decorative inclusions of abaca fibre. The lacey pattern of holes is a stylized representation of rain drops. Takes colour well and is great for layering, papier-mache, lamps, and all collage projects.

This style of paper is know as Rakusui, which translates from Japanese as "falling water".

The holes in the paper are made by water falling onto the sheet.

Amazing gem of a shop

I discovered this shop on my doorstep by accident. An Aladdin’s cave of papers, a must for anyone with an interest in paper crafts or art in general. There’s an incredible selection of beautiful natural and patterned papers from around the world. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Workshops in bookbinding etc are also run here, I would strongly recommend a visit, but do check the opening hours beforehand as are they are more limited being a small business. There is also a website for ordering and perusing.
