It is thought that hanging scrolls were introduced to Japan along with Buddhism in the Ashuka period around the 7th century, so there's nothing new in hanging beautiful Japanese papers.
The Chiyogami paper used in this Wall Hanging is screen printed by hand and follows the Japanese tradition of screen printing kimonos
