Learn to make this classic 3/4 bound case-bound book .  This full day workshop incorporates all aspects of the book from hand-stitching the block, making the case, combining Japanese screen-printed  Chiyogami papers with book-cloth and of course the finishing. 

This is a full day workshop that has an early 10am start and runs to 5pm with a 45 minute break for lunch somewhere in the middle.

The class is limited to 6 people.

All materials are included. Lunch is not included but there are plenty of places in Terenure to get lunch. 


Elize de Beer is an artist and bookbinder and owner of Bookward Bound Bindery, a contemporary bindery that collaborates with artists, writers, designers and all book lovers.
Elize has her origins in South Africa and is now settled in Cork, 

Elize has a strong focus on using traditional and archival bookbinding methods to ensure the longevity and durability of each book. These methods and techniques are then creatively explored to create unique contemporary books. From classic notebooks and sketch books to marbled paper, albums, pop-up books, classic dissertations and artist books; the bindery explores all the ways in which a book can take shape.
